Biography

Kieran is a counselor, educator, coach, and former Paralympic sledge hockey athlete whose life and career have been shaped by resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to helping others grow through adversity. A world champion in his sport, Kieran also coached the provincial sledge hockey team to three consecutive national titles, bringing a strong foundation in mentorship, teamwork, and high-performance mindset to everything he does. Before transitioning into counseling, he spent 16 years as a teacher, working in schools across K–12 and teaching a wide range of subjects. Throughout his career, coaching and teaching have remained central to his passion for helping others build confidence, character, and perseverance.

Kieran’s path has been anything but ordinary. After shattering his legs in a near-fatal cliff-jumping accident, he faced a long and demanding recovery that ultimately led him to Paralympic sport and a renewed sense of purpose. He later wrote an autobiography to share his journey and inspire others facing their own challenges. Today, as a counselor, he supports individuals navigating chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and major life transitions. His therapeutic approach draws from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, blending practical skills with compassion and lived understanding. Grounded and approachable, Kieran is passionate about walking alongside others as they rediscover strength, hope, and possibility. He is also a proud husband and father of four beautiful girls, who continue to be his greatest motivation.
